Palekastro beaches include two fine examples,  Kouremenos beach and Chiona beach. Holidays in Palekastro enjoy some excellent famous beaches and are set in appealing fertile countryside.

Vai beach is a renowned popular beach in Greece and home to Europe’s only natural palm tree forest. While it attracts crowds it deserves its reputation as a beauty spot. Other superb beaches and more ancient ruins are found at Itanos beach five miles to the north of Palekastro.

Palekastro holiday nightlife is based on many tavernas, some by the beach and others in town, including plenty of genuine non-tourist places serving good food to the townspeople. There is plenty of normal Crete day-to-day street life to watch in the main square of Palekastro.
